The driver must be between 21 and 85 years old and have more than one year of driving license. There is also a young driver fee under 20€ per day for drivers aged between 21 and 23 years old.
To conclude the rental agreement, it is necessary to present a passport or a citizen card, and a driver's license. These documents are also accepted in digital format provided that they are certified by ID.gov.pt. Digital platforms from other countries are not accepted. In addition to the identification documents, it is required a credit or debit card under the driver's name, which is necessary for the security deposit.
To open a contract with the rental company, the customer must have in their possession their driving license a) issued by a European country; b) Issued by a country covered by the Geneva International Convention of September 19, 1949 or the Vienna International Convention, of November 8, 1968; c) Issued by a country that has a bilateral agreement or reciprocity regime with Portugal; d) Issued by a non-European country but accompanied, by an international driving license, or by a translation of the national driving license, into Portuguese or English, certified by a notary/lawyer; e) Issued in a non-Roman alphabet, such as Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Russian, Hebrew, or Japanese, but accompanied by an international driving license or a translation of the national driving license into Portuguese or English, certified by a notary/lawyer.
For the security deposit, we accept credit or debit cards, if under the driver's name, and these could be Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Revolut. We do not accept VisaPay and Dinners Club.
To pick up the vehicle, the customer must be accompanied by a physical driver's license and citizen card/ passport. Unless they are presented in digital format certified by ID.gov.pt.
No, a declaration of theft is not accepted as a replacement for a driving license. Only the provisional duplicate document on the card.
No, only the drivers mentioned in the contract can drive the vehicle. If this happens, the rental company is not responsible for any costs related to fines, damages, among others. Adding a driver to the contract costs 4.90€ per day.
Of course, at any time during your rental you can request the extension of your contract, but this extension will have to be confirmed after checking the availability of the fleet. The extension must be made at a rental desk, not by phone or email, and must be paid for the extra days at the same time.
The daily value of a reservation is for 24 hours. All reservations made through this website include PACK RELAX, which includes CDW (self-harm coverage) and TP (theft protection). A security equivalent to the contracted mandatory deductible is applicable, the amount of which is available in the current Insurance and Deductible Coverage Schedule. The customer can also hire superior coverage: PACK SUPER RELAX, includes Pack Relax, SCDW, WDW (windscreen cover), TRW (wheel and tire cover). A security equivalent to the contracted reduced deductible is applicable, the amount of which is available in the current Insurance and Deductible Coverage Schedule. PACK TOTAL RELAX, includes Pack Super Relax, Travel Assistance Fee, Damage, or Accident Administrative Fee, PAI (personal accident insurance). Zero deductible and deposit are applicable, the amount of which is available in the current Insurance and Deductible Coverage Schedule. The costs of these covers vary according to the car group booked. There are vehicles where it is not possible to add the Pack Super Relax and/or the Pack Total Relax.
The delivery and return of vehicles can be done at different branches or locations, but not on different islands. Outside their opening hours, an after-hours fee of 40€ is charged.
Traveling between islands with the same vehicle is not recommended, we suggest different rentals for each island. However, if the customer wishes to take their vehicle to another island, they must inform the rental company in advance. However, the vehicle must be delivered to the island where the customer picked it up. The rental company also informs that they are not responsible for any delays or damages caused when transporting vehicles between islands.
Delivery and/or pickup at accommodations or hotels is possible, but always subject to the company's availability and requires payment of a delivery fee, which can go be 15€ (if the distance goes up to 15km), 30€ (in distances between 15km and 30km) and 50€ (for distances greater than 30km).
As the name suggests, these are codes provided by a wide range of rental partners that offer discounts when booking cars through this website. The code must be entered in the "Promo Code field during the search. The discount applies only to the daily rate and not to any extras.
Vehicle delivery outside the rental company’s opening hours may be possible, subject to availability, and will incur a €40 fee. If the customer is late for pickup and does not notify the company, the vehicle may no longer be available after one hour. Upon return, if the customer does not arrive at the agreed time, a €50 late fee will be charged, along with any applicable overtime charges.
The invoice will be processed immediately after the return of the car and the termination of the rental contract. If you want the same with a taxpayer other than the driver's, request this change when picking up or returning the vehicle.
The delivery of vehicles outside the opening hours of the rental company can be made subject to availability and will cost 40€. If the customer is late to pick up the vehicle and does not notify, the vehicle may no longer be available after 1 hour. Upon return, if the customer does not show up at the agreed time, a late fee of 50€ and overtime payment, if applicable, will be charged.
The customer is responsible for the vehicle throughout the entire rental period and must use it prudently. In the event of an accident or the appearance of new damage, the customer must protect the interests of the Rental Company and the Insurance Company, immediately contact the Rental Company, and then report the incident to the authorities. If the party responsible for the accident cannot be identified, the customer will be charged for the cost of repairing the vehicle, up to the amount of the contracted excess.
We have several types of seats for babies, for newborns, chairs with backs and booster seats. They can be requested at any time from the rental company, subject to availability and payment of 5€ per day, with a maximum amount of 50€ per rental.
Unfortunately, in our fleet we do not have vehicles fully adapted for people with reduced mobility.
The rental company offers a 24/7 technical travel assistance service. This costs 40€ for areas up to 15km from each island's airport (Zone A) and 80€ outside more than 15km from the airport (Zone B). If the customer has obtained the Total Relax Pack, it already includes this fee and is not charged to the customer. This will also not be charged if the problem with the vehicle is unrelated to the customer.
The vehicle must be delivered in the same condition in which it was delivered to the customer, and it is not mandatory to wash it for return. However, an extraordinary cleaning fee of 55€ may be charged to the customer if the vehicle is returned in extremely dirty conditions or out of normal use of the vehicle. Regarding baby seats, if they are returned with dirt that requires a deeper cleaning, an extraordinary cleaning fee of 15€ may be charged.
The transport of animals inside vehicles is allowed as long as they are inside their own boxes or with properly protected seats. However, interior damage caused by the animal will be charged to the customer. Excessive dirt (including hair) may result in an extraordinary cleaning charge of 55€.
It is completely forbidden to smoke inside our vehicles, and an extraordinary cleaning fee of 55€ will be charged if it is confirmed that the customer smoked inside it.
